DR. JOHN HORSWELL
CEO / Chief Forensic Consultant
Dr. John is a highly respected international law enforcement and forensic science professional with over 46 years of experience in the fields of policing and forensic investigation. After an already illustrious international career, he has been Chief Executive Officer of Approved Group International for the last 14 years.
Dr. John has previously headed the Crime Scenes Branch of the Australian Federal Police, as well as an exchange of advice and methodology with the prestigious United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Arson Enforcement Branch and the United States Federal Emergency Management Agencies National Fire Academy.
Holding master’s degrees in Forensic Science, Public Management, and Fire Investigation, Dr. John is also a Chartered Chemist a Fellow of the RACI (FRACI C Chem) and is a trained police officer. He is also a Fellow of the International Association of Fire Investigators, which designates those members as having achieved an eminent position in their field. Only 3% of IAFI members are Fellows, with Dr. John being one of them, making him among its most prestigious members.
Dr. John has a life-long passion for solving complex cases using science and technology. As a leader, he has always been supportive of the “task force” approach to forensic investigation and has been an avid supporter of the role played by relevant professional organisations in the application of Forensic Science and Forensic Investigation.

Roshiv Sheth
Chief Marketing Officer
Roshiv is a man who has lived and breathed his work and currently excels as the head AGI’s marketing and technology department. He studied at the University of California, Davis in the US, achieving his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business and Managerial Economics.
He then went on to work in the home of international tech, Silicon Valley in California. While at Treez Inc, also in Silicon Valley, he acted as a one-man finance team, raising US$13 million in Series A funding. Unsurprising, Roshiv’s diligence allowed both Treez Inc and its accounting team to grow rapidly in a very short period of time.
Upon returning to Malaysia, Roshiv brought Silicon Valley back to AGI as a Marketing Analyst. With all the experience obtained in the fast-paced US tech industry. He was able to change the company’s direction by introducing nine platforms and tech advancements at AGI to complement our services. With those truly impressive efforts, Roshiv unsurprisingly quickly earned his position as our Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing all of our global marketing operations.
Inspired by his AGI colleagues, Roshiv also became certified in restoration after he realized how much good could come from his skillset when disaster strikes. Also armed with a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Industrial Management, his deep understanding of marketing, engineering, business development, and public relations have made him an integral part of our management team at AGI.

Vice President
With over 15 years in total sales experience, Carmen expertly heads our sales operations at AGI. Armed with her Diploma in Business studies, Carmen diligently navigated the world of sales for a number of heavy machinery companies, including Otis Elevators.
In 2018, Carmen used all of her experience to create her own engineering company, specializing in the construction, repair, and modernization of lift and escalator equipment. That extensive experience was exactly what AGI was looking for in 2021, and so we recruited her to head our sales operations.
A polylinguist, Carmen speaks four languages, including English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Her language skills matched with her outstanding sales acumen has been a major pillar of support for AGI’s operations throughout Southeast Asia and beyond.

SUJENTHIRAN
Vice President of Engineering (Mechanical / Marine)
Sujen has always been an engineer at heart. His career started in 2009 as a hands-on engineer, after obtaining his Diploma in Engineering (Marine) from the Malaysian Maritime Academy and Class 3 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) from Malaysian Marine Department. After working as a marine engineer with an American-based global energy logistics solutions provider, he worked his way up to being a Managerial Engineer with the knowledge of heavy machinery commissioning, ship commissioning, oil and gas and advanced ship machinery. During this period he has obtained his Class 2 Marine Engineering CoC in 2012.
While working as the Chief Engineer for high-end Malaysian holiday retreat expansion projects, Sujen earned his Master’s Degree in Project Management, which he now puts to great use with his team at AGI. Proficient in three languages, including English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Tamil, his experience as a senior engineer with knowledge of engineering standards and procedures allows him to be a great leader.

AZIM JAMAL
Senior Vice President (Damage Assessment & Restoration)
Azim is the Senior Restoration Engineer and a Vice President at AGI. His background in electronic engineering, coupled with his excellent skills in technical analysis, decontamination, restoration, and loss mitigation methods have given Azim a unique perspective on crisis management. He will oversee the Damage Assessment, Disaster Restoration, and Infrared Thermography departments at AGI.
As a graduate of Engineering in Electronic Engineering and certifications from IICRC, Azim is well versed in the latest technologies and techniques in disaster restoration, and enjoys sharing his knowledge with his team. At AGI, Azim's work includes supervising field teams to assess damage after natural or manmade disasters, developing strategies for restoring properties to their pre-loss condition, overseeing the decontamination process for affected areas or equipment contaminated by smoke or fire, and assisting clients with risk management plans related to potential damages from future events. Surendran is a dedicated and self-motivated individual, who has an in-depth knowledge of electrical industries. Surendran is a graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering, who went on to be a highly valued commissioning engineer in Oman and Saudi Arabia.
Now with our team in Malaysia, Surendran is one of our electrical forensic engineers who affords us more than 10 years of experience in the electrical industry. He's done everything from project execution to installation, testing, and commissioning of high voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) substations and power generation stations. His range of skills is clearly very versatile, which makes him an extremely valuable asset to our team.

The 1-3 day survey and technical interaction between our risk survey experts with the property/ facilities managers will identify how the risk can be better managed. They could be new features to be added or better recommendations developed that come out of such an assignment.
The Risk Survey is a walk-around, visual and information - gathering type exercise while the thermography activity will identify hot-spots within the electrical / mechanical features of the plant. As she gained experience in investigations, supervising and sharing her field experience has naturally become part of her work scope. She had led at least five new recruits towards their independence and supported them to enhance their skill sets for their respective positions in the team.

Nagen is a skilled investigator with excellent knowledge of forensic science and fire science.
Nagen completed his Bachelors in Science (Forensic Science) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), which also included a rigorous internship with Royal Malaysia Police and The Department of Chemistry Malaysia. Adding to his impressive background he has also been involved in the practical session of fire investigation with the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia. Nagen has also already obtained hundreds of hours of supplementary training, resulting in several additional qualifications in his field, which includes him being a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).
His primary responsibilities with AGI are investigating fire and explosion losses, with duties including scene examination, determining ignition area and sequence, interpreting fire damage and fire patterns, evidence recognition, preservation, collection, and chain of custody.
Nagen works extremely hard to make sure that every detail is accounted for in order to provide AGI’s clients with supremely accurate information about their loss. Nagen has already proven that he has strong potential to rise through our ranks as he continues his education and training, which will further develop his abilities as an investigator.

Ninja is a qualified forensic investigator with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Forensic Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with over two years of experience in the field. In her young career, she has already investigated major fire investigations involving buildings, chemicals, motor vehicles, machines and heavy equipment.
Ninja is a lifelong learner, training with the likes of the Royal Malaysia Police College and the Chemistry Department of Malaysia to further her knowledge in the different aspects of forensics.
Her eagerness to help her team and others led her to a five-month posting in Indonesia during the pandemic, where she proved herself to be able to work independently, utilizing her well-rounded skills to investigate fire incidents. At AGI, we were pleased to pluck her straight from university, as we expect her to become a key member of our team with her expertise in the detection and investigation of fire incidents. Last but not least, Ninja is a member of NAFI and IAAI and has trained with the Malaysian Fire Department (Bomba).

Ka Meng is a Malaysian-born forensic scientist with a degree in Forensic Science. Ka Meng’s expertise ranges from fire, failure, and damage assessment. Recently, his experience has expanded into the territory of elevators and escalators by working as an auditor, ensuring that the building complies with all guidelines set out by all relevant regulatory bodies.
Despite being young, Ka Meng has had the passion and drive to have already published dozens of investigation reports, involving fire, failure, and damage assessment cases throughout the Peninsular.
Ka Meng has already shown himself to be an adept member of AGI’s forensic team, and we are particularly happy to have his excellent drone pilot skills and DSLR photography skills onboard. He is interested in expanding his expertise and knowledge of forensics as much as possible, and we are happy to provide him with the opportunity to do so.

PANG SHIOU FUN
Forensic Consultant
With a Bachelor's Degree in Science, focused in Forensic Science and Technology, Shiou Fun completed her studies with an internship attachment under Bukit Jelutong, Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, in 2018. Her work as a Fire Investigator at the Fire and Rescue Department led her to the world of insurance until she found her passion as a forensic consultant at AGI in 2019.
Her experience as both a fire investigator and a consultant affords Shiou Fun a unique acumen for understanding what all stakeholders require throughout the service spectrum, and her clients find this helps everyone across the board save time, money, and stress.
While young in her career, Shiou Fun has already completed 75 Certified Fire Investigation (CFI) training courses, and has even undertaken academic endeavours with Yale University's Introduction to Psychology. We are privileged to have her work with us as she continues to contribute greatly for years to come.

Amil is our Senior Restoration Engineer, as well as our Head of Department for Damage Assessment & Restoration. With a Mechanical Engineering qualification and over 20 years of experience working with industrial machinery, Amil is one of our most experienced restoration engineers.
As a Senior Restoration Engineer at AGI, he liaises closely with insurers, loss adjusters and property owners to determine the best course of action to take. He then provides detailed engineering reports to assist insurers in making timely decisions.
Over the years, he has developed truly extensive knowledge in technical analysis, decontamination, dehumidification, and odour treatment. Amil's hands-on experience in real-life crisis situations has made him an expert in the technical inspection of equipment and detail assessment when it comes to technical and volumetric analysis.
Amil is able to effectively communicate with clients as well as being a strong team player. Amil’s unparalleled knowledge in his field allows us to meet our high standards for restoration. A strong team leader and well-liked within the engineering department, Amil is always willing to help and has a great rapport with clients.
