What You Need to Know About Disinfecting and Sanitization For Coronavirus?
APPROVED SANITIZATION METHOD
Opt-in today for the most effective method to disinfect, sanitize and protect your office premise from COVID-19
As the world scrambles to find answers amid the COVID-19 outbreak, we felt it necessary to share some of our experience in virus sanitization, in an effort to answer questions and provide some reassurance.
While the SARS CoV-2 virus is new by name and definition, AGI has been at the forefront of forensic sanitization for nearly 20 years, and currently operates in more than 20 countries.
Given AGI’s expertise in sanitization services around the world, we have received many requests to help the wider commercial market during the COVID-19 crisis. For that reason, we would like to make our Priority Sanitization available to the general commercial sector, in an effort to help businesses keep their staff and families safe.
Before we explain how AGI’s Priority Sanitization works, let’s give a background on how viruses spread, and how to eradicate them.
HOW DOES COVID-19 SPREAD IN A WORKPLACE?
From Harvard Medical School:
“Droplets that are produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes may land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby, or possibly be inhaled into their lungs.
Coronavirus can also spread from contact with infected surfaces or objects. For example, a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.”
And from the Journal of Hospital Infection:
“On different types of materials it can remain infectious for from 2 hours up to 9 days.”
So essentially this highly contagious virus will stay on most work surfaces for up to 9 days, which is a problem for any business that has commonly touched surfaces, whether it be a desk or a coffee maker.
DISINFECTION AND SANITIZATION FOR COVID-19
Firstly, it’s important to understand that the Coronavirus is not actually ‘alive’ in any sense, therefore it cannot be killed in the traditional sense.
The virus itself is actually just a nucleic acid (DNA or RNA) wrapped in a coat of proteins, some attached to sugars (glycoproteins), wrapped in fats (lipids). To put it simply, the only way to get rid of it is to inactivate it, by breaking apart its components.
Unfortunately, cleaning with water is not sufficient enough to inactivate the corona virus from any surface (or germs for that matter), as they generally only ‘pick up’ the virus to be washed down the drain. This makes it easy to leave enough of the coronavirus on a surface to remain a problem.
Even if you use commercial cleaning products by spraying and scrubbing, you will not be able to get into all the minute spaces that the virus exists.
Sanitization through AGI’s Priority Sanitization, on the other hand, uses specifically tailored solutions called viricides (that are USEPA approved) to kill germs and inactivate viruses on any given surface, whether they be porous or non-porous.
For this reason, we strongly recommend AGI's Priority Sanitization after disinfecting the surfaces to deactivate the virus.
HOW DOES AGI’S PRIORITY SANITIZATION HELP REDUCE TRANSMISSION OF COVID-19?
that are particularly effective in the fight against COVID-19 on common touch surfaces.
3 aspects of AGI’s Priority Sanitization System
AGI’s USEPA approved Priority Sanitization System is applied by an Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) misting, which essentially uses large volumes of air at a very low pressure to create mist of viricide, that is dispersed in the air and on the surfaces.
AGI’s Priority Sanitization breaks apart the structure of the Coronavirus, by destroying the fatty membrane that holds it all together. Once that fatty membrane is eradicated, the virus falls into its smaller components and is rendered completely inactive.
Once AGI’s Priority Sanitization is applied to a surface, it will create a protective layer for upto 100 days with minimal maintenance.

HOW IS AGI’S PRIORITY SANITIZATION SYSTEM PERFORMED?
There are 2 phases to our Priority Sanitization System, that are performed by our own expert consultants, fully geared to with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) – coveralls with particle barrier based on BS6909, and respirators with the recommended filters.
PHASE 1 - AGI’S PRIORITY DISINFECTION
PHASE 2 - AGI’S PRIORITY SANITIZATION
Our expert team will hand-wipe to disinfect every surface that has regular human contact. This includes everything from tables, chairs, to door handles, telephones and laptops.
Phase 2 involves our skilled technicians applying our Priority Sanitization via ULV misting equipment. Every single surface (as well as the air) will be evenly treated for maximum effect.
Radically reduces the chances of transmission of any virus
Our ULV technology will sanitize every nook and cranny down to one thousandth of a millimetre
AGI’s Priority Sanitization will remain active on surfaces for up to 100 days.
